All of the pictures from StudioFanmail and CelebMerch are either Preprints or Autopens. Thumbs%20Down

You shouldn't waste stamps on your requests, you can email all of the members at studiofanmail with just your name and address and you will receive a preprint in the mail shortly after.

I was thinking about the notion of signature vs. autograph. Pre-prints are signatures, but cannot be autographs. Autographs, however, are signatures. (I used dictionary.com to verify that) I think that it is in the best interest of the hobby to be sure that this is a clear distinction. It certainly would provide common definition when dealing with others. I hate getting some pre-print that the seller claims was an autograph or was signed.

TheADDHobbyist - what fun is there in buying "autographed" pictures?

The only way to be truly happy with what you received is to write yourself and attain something original.

Good luck!

Most purchases are books but the occasional photo is when you know there is no way to get one like it via mail. For example, the castaways from Gilligan's Island in a photo and having multiple sigs isn't going to happen without seeing the individuals or buying the photo from someone who already did that. Also, buying makes sense when the signer is dead Confused

I don't ever trust buying, because it is so easy to fake it. ={

AngelinaJolie- a venue is a place (concert,play, theater, etc..) that you write to a celebrity at.  The celeb is only there for a certain period of time.  You would have to write her at that venue, and include a SASE and a picture, because a lot of times the celebs dont have headshots at these places.  You also have to make sure you send the request soon, because she will not be filming for a long period of time.

Goodluck everyone with your requests!

The signature is already on the picture before it's printed houmi. None are original. It is never signed for you by the celebrity.

After reading your messages, I just went to visit the Studio Fan Mail website, read their policy, and honestly I don't like the system. OK, it's good if you want to have a nice picture of a celebrity, but nothing to compare with something authentic...
