Well, I'm new to the website, and can't thank you for my autographs (yet), but on my own, I have collected 87 autographed photos. I have written to addresses from here, and can't wait to see what responses I get! Thumbs%20Up

Hello LadyRaven,

You should have a high success rate if you write to addresses that other members have posted success results to.

87 is a good number... congrats and keep it up Big%20smile
Best of luck!

I started with a list of people that I knew I wanted and got the addresses from Movie Eye and went from there.  What do you mean what did I send for a response?

I tried almost the entire cast of Battlestar Galactica and got one back, Katee Sackoff. I didn't get the addresses from here, but they are definately valid and I'm looking forward to posting them.

Yes, Britexpat.. Sometimes it can take a very long time to receive a reply. I remember about 2 years ago I received an autograph from a person I'd sent a letter to about a year and a half before getting the response. But what a surprise it is when you get something like that!! Thumbs%20Up

Yes, I sent a SASE and a letter.  I am so glad to see that there are people in other countries who collect autographs too!

Yup.... We're a world-wide breed!! Lol... LOL

Well, since I can't send SASE's, I have to send International Reply Coupons, which are quite expensive. So far I've received all my autographs from just writing letters - but I know that if I want replies from the tougher ones, I'll have to send International Reply Coupons..

Just do what you feel is right.  Make sure you don't over spend as this hobbie can get expensive.  Spread out over time it's not bad.  Keep at it and you will be amazed at the responses, I am!LOL

LOL Yeah... I know... I do spread over time... I send out a batch of letters every couple of months when I have the spare money. And yes, it definitely does make getting mail interesting again!

What are International Reply Coupons and would I need to get one if I'm asking for an autograph from someone in Britain?

Hi Justice,

An International Reply Coupon almost works like a money order. What it does is.. Whatever country you are from (you being in the US) permits the sender from another country to redeem the IRC for stamps to send the envelope to you. Most of the time you'd need more than 1, as 1 is only the cost of a standard airmail letter.

Yes, you would probably need it for most stars in the UK, some don't need anything but a letter - but others need something more.. Like SASE's or IRC's.

Hope that makes sense.

Good luck with your collecting!

Justice,

Being from the United States if you send a SASE you don't need the IRC.  I have received autographs from a couple of different countries using a SASE and have had no problems.

Hehehe.. Yes.. That's the most exciting part! Is to see what you get! LOL. I'm sending out some self-addressed envelopes with IRC's this week. Let's see if I have any luck! Big%20smile
