Yeah, very shocked to see that he passed too soon. He was in The Patriot and A Knight's Tale. Great actor.

I've seen clips from the upcoming Batman movie... he is an intense Joker. Very sad. I hope they find out it wasn't suicide.

Suzanne Pleshette died this week, too. She was very nice, and a wonderful comedic actress.

This may sound a bit horrible (though I do not intend it to seem so) but I am glad they were able to finish The Dark Knight before he died.

I agree. Either they would have had to "double" him, which would have made the film less than it could have been, and not a fitting tribute to the man; or, they would have had to scrap his shots, and re-cast. And to have all that great work thrown out would have been awful.

Yeah, that would probably set back the release date 6-12 months - not cool! I can't wait to see it though, The Joker looks awesome! Have you seen the posters?

... and trailers. He played his part to the max. I thought Jack Nicholson was creepy, but Heath made me cringe.

I am really excited for this movie. I forget who, but one of the cast (or crew) said that it would be a "very dark" film...perfect. Big%20smile

I can't believe he's dead. I was obsessed with him when I was in sixth grade, he was an amazing actor, and amazingly good looking.

I'm so upset about this.
R.I.P. Heath Ledger.

The world has again lost another great talent.  I was extremely saddened to here of Heath Ledger's passing.
Condolences to his family and friends.

I have a via venue schedule that I keep track of celebs that I want to write via venue. I had Heath Ledger down for 1/28/07 at the set of his new movie The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. I have never had to cross a celebrity off of my To-Write list due to death before.

I'm really saddened by the loss. He was so young and he had a young daughter. It's always much worse when there are kids involved.

I also feel bad for his family. I think they still live in Australia.

Heath Ledger--Saw every movie, never had a chance to write and say "thanks for the awesome movies."

Such a sad loss--especially when he was---still can't get used to that--only a year younger than me....

It was years ago now but the world will sadly miss Paul Eddington. England would be nothing without 'The Good Life'. RIP.

This isn't really a celebrity, but Raymond Jacobs, believed to be the last surviving member of the group of Marines photographed during the original U.S. flag-raising on Iwo Jima during World War II, died today at age 82. RIP

Roy Scheider, a two-time Oscar nominee best known for his roles as a small-town police chief in "Jaws" and his portrait of famed choreographer Bob Fosse in "All That Jazz," died on Sunday at age 75. What an incredible actor. I'm gonna miss him very much. RIP

I think this is a great thread.  I would like to mention some of my favorite celebs who have passed (most of them are not recent passings):

Pat Morita - Mr. Miyagi from the Karate Kid.  He was one of the funniest stand-up comedians I ever got a chance to see.  He died a couple of years ago, but I still miss him.

Phil Hartman - It's been a while since his psycho wife took him from us, but he was, in my opinion, one of the funniest men ever.

Graham Chapman - It's hard to believe it's been over 18 years since his death, but the Monty Python front man is still one of the most missed individuals in show business.

Joe Nuxhall - If you're not from Cincinnati, you've probably never heard of him, but he is credited as the youngest Major League Baseball player in the history of the league, having first played at the age of 15 for the Cincinnati Reds.  All through my childhood he was the voice of the Reds and I miss his game commentary.  He died this past year at the ripe age of 79.

I have so many people I miss, but these are the ones that are sticking in my mind at the moment.  I'm sure more will come at a later date.

Steve Fossett declared dead at 63, 5 months after he vanished while flying in an ordinary small plane. Very sad...and mysertious the way he vanished out of nowhere. RIP
