UPDATED:

For all those Stephen king fans out there, you probably know that he rarely makes public appearances, which is why I was excited when I found out this information:

Event Information:

Stephen King, Tabitha King (wife), and Owen King (son), will be making an appearance at the Folger Elizabethan Theater is Washington D.C. on April 4, 2008 at 8:00pm. The event is called "Three Kings" and they will each be reading from their novels. Tickets are $30 and will be going on sale starting on January 2, 2008.

Due to events popularity, the reading will now be held at The Lutheran Church of the Reformation. This is across from the Folger. After the reading, the signing will take place back back at the Folger.

Street parking is very limited. It is encouraged to take the Metro or use a taxi. For directions using public transportation, click here.

Seating is general admission and doors open at 7:30pm

Signing Information:

Stephen, Tabitha, and Owen will only be signing ONE BOOK per audience member. You can bring one book for each author, but they will only sign ONE. Also, no photography of any kind is allowed.

The Folger is located directly across the street from the Lutheran Church of the Reformation. Please enter through the Visitor Entrance on the east side of the building. The Visitor Entrance is directly underneath the large "Gift Shop" banner. This event will be heavily staffed to assist all guests.

For security reasons, vaudience members will not be admitted into the Great Hall prior to the conclusion of the reading.

For more information on this event, you can visit the link below:

*Tickets are now SOLD OUT!

that would be great. Is this like a willy wonka situation where only like 7 people get to see him and get free candy for life?

Yup. Just commenting on the rarity of his appearances. Also not unlike, the three toed purple water buffalo.

UPDATE:

I e-mailed the Folger Theater and inquired about more information. They told me that after the event, there will be a reception, book sale, and...BOOK SIGNING.

I am really excited about this and hoping that I am able to go. Believe me, someone WILL take me.

No, tickets do not go on sale until January 1st. I will be purchasing tickets at this time. So as of now, I am going.

They allow you to bring your own SK book for signing, that's pretty cool.

Thanks Meagan. Don't worry, I will be taking a lot of pictures during this event. With the reading, reception, and signing, there's sure to be many photo opportunities.

yup I took the day off work and got a train ticket and a hotel, its my present to myself :) I'm not sure which books i'll bring yet. Carrie for sure, I already have it signed by Sissy Spaceck so that would be cool to get King to sign it too! Do you know how many we're allowed to get signed? I emailed and asked but havent gotten an answer yet.

I'll also bring one of Tabithas and one of Owens. I wish his other son was going to be there, Joe Hill, have you read any of his stuff? He writes just like his daddy!

What a nice present to give to yourself! The BEST in my opinion. As for the book situation, I also emailed the theater and they said no more than 2 books (I'd guess that is per person). I have not read any of Tabitha's or Owen's books - - just Stephen King.

I think the books I am bringing are Pet Sematary and Needful Things.

I can not wait!
