![]() Topic: Autograph Requests - Letter LayoutPosted: May/03/2009 at 9:34pm |
|
Alot of people new to this have trouble writing the letters asking for autographs. not being sure how to state it..heres an example.
Dear _____ My name is ______ I am __ years old and live in ____. I have been a fan of yours for a long time, (___state what you especially like___ ). I collect autographs as a hobby and would like to add yours to my collection. I have enclosed a ( card photo whatever) to be signed along with a self addressed stamped envelope. I hope you have a moment to sign this for me. Thank you very much for your time. Respectfully your name Always sign letter by hand even if typed, try not to get to wordy or long winded, If you are not sending something to be signed ask politely for an autographed photo. Try to always send SASE you will get way more responces sending your own envelope. |

Another example:
Dear John Travolta (or any other celeb), My name is <name>, I am <age> years old, and I live in <city>, <country>. I am writing to you, because I am a huge fan of your work! I have enjoyed you in <movie>, <movie>, <play>, <documentary>, <whatever else the celebrity does that you like>. I'm also writing in the hopes that you could possibly send me an autographed picture <or other item>? Perhaps even signed to my name? It would mean the absolute world to me! I've enclosed an SASE, so it shouldn't cost you anything to respond. Thank you so much for your time, and I hope to hear back soon. Kind regards, <your name> |

Hi there. If you send 3 or 4 IRC's you don't put stamps on the envelope. In that case, you send an SAE - Self-Address Envelope with IRC's with your letter. If you were using stamps, then you don't need IRC's, and you use US stamps from the post office - enough for an international letter of that size and weight.

I've been okay putting 3 44-cent stamps on a 9x12 envelope. I always included a piece of cardstock in my SASEs to give the envelope some rigidity.
