Recieved a photo back from Kate today, and a letter from her secretary. Saying she could not sign the photos i have sent because she was not in the area but she sent me this one.... I can feel the marker marks from the signature and its not shakey like a autopen. Im not sure if she pre-signs some pictures? Any Ideas?

I got the same photo with the same letter when I sent to her. I accidentally scratched off some of the pen...so I'm not sure. I don't think a pp would allow you to scratch off some ink. And you are right about the autopen...so I have no idea. Confused

It's autopenned. I've seen others exactly the same, but in different places of the photo. Wink

Hi Folks,

New to the board, but always glad to help. The Beckinsale you received is nothing like I have ever seen in anything in person signed by her.

So in my opinion it is definitely not authentic.

Not sure why this was the first board I popped into but just to let everyone know I am always glad to help when I can. Going to go find a introduction place.. if you guys have one.

But for those reading now... My name is Ed Bedrick.. I Have been collecting for about 27 years.. have been a dealer for 22 years.

I am a UACC member, UACC Registered Dealer.. and have also served as a UACC Regional Director for about 7 years for the follwoing states RI, MA, CT ME, VT and NH.

Look forward to talking with you all.

Hi Ed
As Rockmadman said above, it is autopenned so it is her signature, just pen to paper was done by a machine, not her, and yes, as you said, that makes it not authentic.
Sadly most collectors here and other sites want to believe what they receive is real and are closed minded to the opinions of others that have more experience in this field. Just look at the collections people post, most are filled with preprint, secretarial and autopens, most dont want to know or dont want to believe there idols would do that

I think it's more that people don't want to believe it's sec with no reason when they could just as soon assume it's real. We don't really know if it's a sec or not if the sigs are close (i.e. John Travolta's "sec" sigs look very similar to his IP ones). In any case, if they said she couldn't sign, odds are it's an AP.

I'm not sure when Kate started with auto-pens, but the one I've got is not like any I've seen on the success posts. Either way, it's still very nice.

Hard to tell... It's like that sometimes with these celebrities..

Maybe someone else will have a better way of seeing whether it's real or not, so let's hope for some more responses.

Have gotten In person Kate's MANY times... This is nothing like her real signature. I agree with others. pre-print.

BTW.. auto-pens now run very smooth. For the most part you will not have any shake in the signature.. they are pretty exact and perfect.. undetactable if you do not have another to compare to. So do not rely on that shakiness.
