Covers for signed books Celebrity Address & Autograph Forums

   Hello.  I like to collect signed, hardback books.  I have a few books that have a clear, plastic protection sleeve that has been placed over the cover to keep it from tearing or getting bent.  I bought these books with this cover already applied.  It is not attached to the book.  It is just folded around the cover for protection.  

My question is:  does anyone know where I can get this material, and/or what exactly this "slip cover" is called?  I'm not sure if there is a technical term used for it or not.  I would like to purchase more to protect other books I have.  Thanks for your help!

	They are called mylar covers. I buy them from various library supply companies for my first edition books. I use www.Gaylord.com as well as www.Demco.com. Both are reliable and will have the mylar covers in stock. Hope that helps!

	What would you suggest I use for signed movie scripts? I have a few, which are really precious to me!

	I also collect autographed hardback books, mainly biographies. What I do is bag them using acid free comic or acid free magazine bags. Any comic shop will stock these. They keep the books dust free and by being archival standard, do not harm the dust jackets/covers. The magazine bags may also be big enough to provide a solution for scripts until you do decide to do something nicer.

	I just have my signed books all together on a shelf. I haven't found a particularly good way to display them, but by having them all in one spot, I can easily identify/display what is or is not signed.
